TIME SETTINGS

  • 25/40 (football) - Warning vibration with :25 remaining on the :40 play clock. The 25 and 40 second play clock has a quick vibration warning with 25 seconds remaining, then with 10 seconds remaining, then will vibrate in 1 second increments for the last 5 seconds.
  • 25/60 (football) - 60 second timer has a vibration warning 15 seconds remaining, then again when the timer reaches 0.
  • 20/120 (baseball) - Setting to easily time :20 between pitches and :120 between innings. The 20 second timer gives an initial vibration once engaged, then again at :10 remaining, then a long vibration when the timer reaches 0. The 120 second clock has a warning vibration with 30 seconds remaining and with 15 seconds remaining. Continuous vibration at 0:00.
  • 20/120 (lacrosse) - audible tone. The 20 second defensive clearance clock has a quick vibration warning with 5 seconds remaining, then will vibrate in 1 second increments for the last 5 seconds. The 120 second timeout timer has a vibration warning 15 seconds remaining, then again when the timer reaches 0.

 

REFSMART UNIVERSAL GAME DAY TIMER INSTRUCTIONS

The RefSmart Universal Timer can be used by football officials, baseball umpires and lacrosse referees. See the instructions below to set your timer to the correct time settings. Note: if purchased from Ump Attire, the defualt time setting for your timer will be 25/40.

CHANGING TIMER MODE

  • Remove the lid with a flat head screw driver. There are three indentations along the seam of the timer. You should use a flathead screwdriver to pop the cover.
  • Inside you will see the small DIP switches just above the power switch (see image below)
  • To move the switches use a pen, paperclip or small flathead screw driver. Poke through the film and move the switch.
  • Switch 1 controls audible/silent. To the left is vibrate only, to the right is audible tone and vibrate.

  • Use the following configurations (note: switch 1 is closest to the bottom)
    • 25/40 (silent): Switch 2 to the right, all others to the left
    • 25/60 (silent): All switches to the left
    • 20/120 (silent): Switches 2 & 3 to the right, all others to the left
    • 20/120 (audible): Switches 1 & 3 to the right, all others to the left.
